Cash van robbery: Guard’s father, guarantor arrested

SHO said that his father had said he wished his son had taken him with him.

Civil Lines police have arrested the father and guarantor of Sher Muhammad, a security guard accused of stealing over Rs20 million from a cash-moving company on Wednesday.


Police officials said that a case had been registered against Sher Muhammad, a retired lance naik working for Askari Guards, on the complaint of Askari Guards operations manager Major (retired) Tahir.

Civil Lines Station House Officer Abid Rashid said that they had arrested Asadullah Khan, Muhammad’s father and a resident of Nankana Sahib, as well as Yaseen, his guarantor. He said that Muhammad had got the job at Askari Guards on Yaseen’s endorsement.

He said that both had denied having any contact with Muhammad since the robbery. The SHO said that his father had said he wished his son had taken him with him.
