ATC hearings: Cases against Taju declared dormant

KARACHI: Two cases naming Taj Mohammad alias Taju along with almost two dozen men were made dormant on Wednesday. The cases, being heard by the Anti-Terrorism Court-III, were based on FIRs 146/2012 and 147/2012 that were registered at Kharadar police station and filed under the section of the Pakistan Penal Code that deals with attempted murder. Taj Mohammad is an uncle of Peoples Amn Committee’s late founder Rehman Dakait and reportedly controls the Nawa Lane area for the group. Several cases implicating leaders and members of the banned Peoples Amn Committee have been declared dormant after the police were unable to produce any of the accused in the court.
