Divisional Commissioner Tahir Hussain has asked the city district government, the Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) and the Housing and Planning Department functionaries to ensure enforcement of building bylaws and commercialisation and town planning rules.
Presiding over a meeting on Tuesday, Hussain said all legal requirements should be met before awarding no objection certificates. He also constituted a committee to conduct a detailed survey in every case of commercialisation. District Coordination Officer Naseem Sadiq, FDA Director General Chaudhry Ashraf and Director (Development) Chaudhry Asif were also present. Hussain directed the participants to ensure that no building bylaws were violated in construction of commercial plazas. He said construction should be stopped if bylaws are found being violated. He also directed the participants to ensure that the assessment of conversion fee was done in a transparent manner. Several proposals for the construction of petrol pumps and plazas, establishment of industrial storerooms and commercialisation of agriculture land and conversion of residential units into schools and private hospitals was also reviewed.
