Qambrani told the media that for the last four days, unknown men in a car bearing no number plate had been visiting her house when she was present.
“They threatened my domestic workers and my family, and said that they wanted to kill me,” Qambrani said, adding that she does not know who the men were or what they wanted.
She claimed that the same people have threatened her several times in the past, and was confused as to who would be unhappy with her since she was only a lecturer.
Qambrani appealed to the government to take notice of the threats.
Meanwhile, a large number of women staged a protest outside the Quetta Press Club on Wednesday condemning the attack on Qambrani.
The protesting women were carrying placards, banners and chanted slogans against the government.
They urged the judiciary to take a suo motu notice and hold a high-level investigation to identify the culprits.
Qambrani is the daughter of famous Baloch intellectual, late Prof Nadir Qambrani, who had spent his youth years in self-exile in Afghanistan. On his return, he had joined the Balochistan University as a lecturer till his retirement.
Last year Balochistan University's Prof. Saba Dashtiyari was killed by unknown men.

"Violence is never the answer, but I consider armed Baloch militants and their collaborators no different a threat than Taliban and Sipah-e-Sahaba etc. They have hijacked legitimate Baloch frustration and using it to cause chaos in province and ruin their own people."
To me governement and its agencies have pretty much bungled the Balochistan issue.
@Ali Ahsan
Sorry it say your analysis is flawed just like any analysis which is biased against Baloch....
Your claim that you follow the situation of Balochistan is also incorrect based on your lack of correct knowledge... Baloch militant groups have claimed responsibility for some incidents not for all... Its the establishment who has infiltrated Baloch militant groups and created some also and establishment play them up as per their wishes..
If you happen to be reading Quetta edition of Newspapers, then you would know that on daily basis there are claims by so many different groups who claim to be Baloch militant groups. Recently BLA declared another such group an establishment proxy, so whats the significance of anonymous claims in such circumstances. Again you might not know but in Mastung a person dressed as Baloch militant, who tried to kill a Punjabi professor, was apprehended by the public and was found to be a non-baloch and later security forces get him released from Police station.....
It was establishment who created rifts between Justice Marri and Nawab Marri on first place, later the murder of Justice Marri was used as pretext to arrest Nawab Marri......
I am not defending all actions of BLA and others surely they have also committed blunders but remember they are a reaction of 65 years of tyranny....
Again the same pattern of comments... Justifying the atrocities against Baloch because some unknown people allegedly believed to be Baloch militants are attacking settlers! What a logic...
No doubt that Killing of Nazima Talib, safdar kiyani and others is condemnable, but who committed those murders? Simply Baloch militants are blamed but if one analyses deeply, certainly Baloch were not the beneficiaries of these brutal murders. Its a big conspiracy, Killing Settlers to gain sympathy and support for operations against Baloch.
Now this latest act of persecution, this is also condemnable and those who cry for settlers rights should also condemn it. One can't see this incident anywhere in electronic media. There would have been breaking news and tickers displaying this type of news if some lecturer of Punjab or Karachi university was threatened like that.
Nusheen Qambrani and Saba Dashtiyari were not the only people killed in Balochistan by radical elements opposed to Baloch nationalist ideology
Many teachers, including "settlers" have been targeted by the self-styled Baloch "freedom fighters" in Balochistan. http://www.hrw.org/news/2010/12/13/pakistan-balochistan-militants-killing-teachers
People like Prof Fazal Bari, Dr Safdar Kayani, the principal of Cadet College Mastung, and my good friend Mir Muzaffar Hussain Jamali, a principal of a Kharan school, on 26 May 2012 by BLA.
It has become a free-for-all, but in the end all blame comes on Pakistan right?
