Ajmer shrine donation: Pak envoy reassures the custodians

Reacting to Indian media reports that the shrine of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti in Ajmer is still waiting on a Rs50 million donation from President Asif Ali Zardari, the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi said arrangements have been made for the contribution.  According to The Economic Times, the commission dismissed as “speculative” the reports that donations had not reached the shrine even three and a half months after the president’s announcement. President Zardari, during a day-long visit on April 8 2012, offered prayers at the historic 13th century shrine after which a $1 million donation for the shrine was announced by him. His son, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, had also accompanied him on the trip.
