Five people, among them two women, were killed in separate incidents of violence in Naseerabad district on Sunday.
Three people were killed when two sub-clans of Bhangar tribe clashed within the limits of Chattar police station, Naseerabad, according to the police.
The dead included two brothers – Fateh Muhammad and Baqa Muhammad.
Police reached the site when fighting died down. They shifted the bodies to a nearby hospital for medico-legal formalities. The corpses were later handed over to heirs for burial.
Police said the clash was triggered by a dispute over a piece of farmland.
Such clashes have become common in the region because of the faulty system of land settlement after the Pat Feeder canal was built.
In another incident, a man allegedly shot dead his spouse in Dera Murad Jamali, accusing her of having extra-matrimonial affairs. The alleged killer, identified as Nazar Muhammad, fled the scene unchallenged.
Separately, a man shot dead his sister-in-law in Tamboo Tehsil within the jurisdiction of Khan Kot police. Police speculated that some domestic dispute caused the murder.
