Mass transit: City to have metro bus this year

An eight-kilometre flyover is also being constructed for the project, he said.

LAHORE: Chief Minister (CM) Shahbaz Sharif has said the Metro Bus Service is a historic project which will be completed before the end of this year. He was talking to media after a briefing on the speed of work on the project on Sunday. He said the project would provide people speedy and comfortable public transport. He said work on the project was continuing around-the-clock. He said that the government was ensuring the traffic flow was not affected during the construction phase. An eight-kilometre flyover is also being constructed for the project, he said.  LDA Director General Ahad Cheema gave a briefing on the pace of work. Lahore Transport Company Chairman Khwaja Ahmad Hassan, MPA Dr Saeed Elahi, Hafiz Mian Nauman, Ramzan Siddique Bhatti, Khwaja Imran Nazir, Khwaja Salman Rafique, the commissioner and DCO Lahore were present in the meeting.
