LONDON:

Uncapped batsman James Taylor was named in the England squad for the second Test against South Africa, starting at Headingley on Thursday.

Taylor replaced Ravi Bopara, who was unavailable for what England selection chairman Geoff Miller described as ‘personal reasons’.  It is the only change in England’s 13-man squad.

“James has been part of the England Performance Programme for a number of years and has performed consistently,” said Miller. South Africa will replace England at the top of the international Test rankings if they win the three-match series.
