Cricket: Pakistan whip Australia in warm-up

Captain Babar Azam and Mohammad Nawaz excelled as Pakistan U19 beat Australia U19 by six wickets in the first Youth One-Day International in Gold Coast.


The Pakistan team arrived early in Australia ahead of the U19 World Cup and their preparations were off to a great start as Nawaz took three wickets to help bowl out the hosts for just 187 in 46.5 overs.

In reply, Pakistan eased past the target in 46 overs, losing just four wickets courtesy a defiant knock by captain Azam who struck 79. Inamul Haq (39) and Umar Waheed (34) also helped take the side past the finish line.
