The decision was taken in view of Naseer’s “exemplary performance and managerial skills”.

Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Saturday approved a three-year extension in the tenure of Dr Rizwan Naseer, the Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) director general. The decision, according to the minister, was taken in view of Naseer’s “exemplary performance and managerial skills”. A Rescue 1122 spokesperson confirmed that Naseer’s contract has been extended. Dr Rizwan Naseer has been the director general of the service since it started operations in 2004. The service, which has been expanded to all districts of the province, is now being spread out to the tehsil level.
