Suspects Charged: Kidnapping trial to resume on August 11

The Anti-Terrorism Court-II charged suspects in two cases on Friday.


Shaukat Ali, implicated in a 2011 case of kidnapping and common intent, was formally charged. His trial will resume on August 11. Mohammad Muneer and Mohammad Hassan were among those named in four separate cases and were formally charged on Friday by ATC-II.

The First Information Reports (FIRs) 94/2012, 100/2012, 101/2012 and 102/2012 were filed by the Gulberg police station. The sections of the Pakistan Penal Code the FIRs were filed under relate to illegal weapons possession, wrongful confinement, extortion, assault or use of criminal force to deter public servants from doing their duty, common intent and attempted murder. It also includes ‘unnatural offences’, explained as “carnal intercourse against the order of nature with any man, woman or animal.” The case will next be heard on August 8.
