KARACHI:

The bail plea of a man accused of murder was dismissed by the Malir district and sessions court on Tuesday.

“Sufficient material is available with the prosecution to connect the accused with the crime, therefore the bail application stands dismissed,” announced the first additional district and sessions judge, Iqbal Muhammah Khawaja, in the open court.

According to the prosecution’s case, Sardar Bukhsh was shot dead by Sain Bukhsh Chandio during a fight that turned fatal at the deceased’s residence in Khadim Hussain Solangi Goth. Sain Bukhsh was reportedly accompanied by Muhammad Shareef Chandio, Noor Khan Burfat, Qasim Burfat and others.

The deputy district public prosecutor for the state, Muhib Ali Lund, brought forward several witnesses to establish that the accused was present at the crime scene and opened fire at Sardar Bukhsh. Lund said that the fight broke out because Sain Bukhsh stole animals which belonged to the deceased. The accused was arrested from Sohrab Goth while trying to escape, added Lund.

Earlier, the counsel for the accused, Ulfat Shah, said that Sain Bukhsh was innocent, adding that the witnesses held personal grudges against the accused. No confession was recorded before any magistrate and no incriminating evidence has been found, added Shah.
