LAHORE: Minister for Pakistan Railways (PR) Haji Ghulam Ahmad Bilour has said that six suspended trains are being restored, starting next week. In a statement issued here on Friday, he said that the decision of the restoration of trains had been taken after assurances for the security of railways assets were given by Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif. The minister further revealed that members of the railway board had rejected the idea of restructuring the department and its board, adding it had also suggested the restoration of the previous body of the board. He disclosed that PR was planning to operate oil trains to transport furnace oil for independent power producers. The minister urged the government to focus on the railways; like its Indian counterpart, which had preferred developing railways to roads.
