LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Wednesday issued notices to the chief secretary for September 13 on a writ petition seeking removal of Rizwan Naseer, the Rescue 1122 director general. Justice Aminuddin Khan issued the order on the petition moved by a citizen. The petitioner has described Naseer’s appointment as a “political decision”. He alleges that Naseer has made several recruitments in which he ignored merit. The petitioner has also accused the Rescue 1122 director general of corruption in the purchase of ambulances and other machinery for the department. He has prayed the court to set aside Nasser’s appointment.
