KARACHI:

Sindh High Court has ordered a joint investigation team to probe the case of a missing cattle trader.

Justices Hasan Azhar Rizvi and Salhuddin Panwhar called for the constitution of an investigating team headed by the Sukkur police DIG on Monday on a petition filed by the mother of Abdul Wahid Naseerani, who went missing on November 2, 2011. According to Milli Khatoon, her son and his friends were coming back to Kandhkot from Karachi after selling sacrificial animals on Eidul Azha, when a police party headed by DSP Allana Abbas stopped them. Naseerani, Muhammad Ilyas Khoso, Ghulam Nabi Shaikh, Tufail Ahmed and Ghous Bux were all were taken to a police station and were later booked in a case of hashish possession.

During the hearing on Monday, all respondent police and other agencies’ officials denied having arrested or keeping the missing man in custody. As no progress was reported by the Sukkur police also, the judges ordered the Sukkur DIG to form a joint investigation team and find out the whereabouts of the cattle trader.
