KARACHI: Pakistan Navy (PN) vessels distributed fresh drinking water among Gwadar residents on Sunday, in coordination and consultation with the local district administration. Rear Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi supervised the relief efforts. Two tankers, PNS Moawin and PNS Madadgar, reached Gwadar with 1,100 tonnes of fresh drinking water. PN has tasked more ships to continue the supply of water to Balochistan’s coastal areas. The prevalent scarcity of water in the province due to scarce water resources and marginal rains has adversely affected the populace, as well as the crops. Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, taking note of the current situation, had requested PN to provide relief to residents of Balochistan’s coastal areas, including Gwadar and Ormara.
