Quality check: DCO visits Sunday bazaars

DCO expressed his displeasure with the quality of vegetables and fruits and the cleanliness standards.

LAHORE:

District Coordination Officer (DCO) Noorul Amin Mengal paid surprise visits to the Shadman, Islampura and Begum Kot Sunday bazaars on Sunday.

He directed the bazaar administration to improve arrangements and provide better facilities to shoppers. He expressed his displeasure with the quality of vegetables and fruits and the cleanliness standards. He said the price of food items in Sunday bazaars should be lower than other markets. Mengal ordered the Data Ganj Baksh TMO to improve arrangements at Islampura Sunday Bazaar.

He also ordered the suspension of three officials, Market Committee Sub Inspector Ijaz Ahmad, Deputy Tehsil Municipal Officer Muhammad Yawar and Traffic Controller Shahid Hussain for neglecting their duties.
