Roof collapse: Thunderstorm kills two of a family

House collapsed around 3am in which an 11-year-old girl Wizra was killed on the spot

NOWSHERA: Two people were killed, while four others were injured, when the roof of their house collapsed after a heavy rainfall in Risalpur on Thursday.  SHO Muhammad Ishaq said that the roof of Muhammad Sirag’s house collapsed around 3am in which he along with his 11-year-old daughter Wizra were killed on the spot, while his wife and three daughters were injured. Their neighbours rushed to rescue them from the debris despite the heavy downpour and storm. The bodies were pulled out and the injured were rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital Nowshera. Medics at the DHQ said that 11-year-old Salma, 8-year-old Haleema and their mother Tajmina were discharged after initial treatment, but two-year-old Abida is in a critical condition.
