Influx of capital: PM eyes more investment

BOI chairman Mandviwala requested to convert BOI into a one-window service provider for investors.

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Thursday directed the Board of Investment (BOI) Chairman Saleem H Mandviwala to work out a plan for altering procedures to facilitate investors. Talking to Mandviwala at the PM house, the premier requested to convert BOI into a one-window service provider for investors. He said that investment was critical to socio-economic development and poverty alleviation and every effort must be made to stimulate domestic and foreign investment in the country. He also stressed the importance of simplifying procedures to facilitate investors. He directed the relevant authorities to approve creation of a BOI fund enabling the board to become a financially independent organisation.
