LAHORE: The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) on Wednesday condemned the increasing incidents of wanton violence and bloodshed across the country.

It noted that the recent killing of at least 18 people in Dasht, this week’s attack on an army camp in Gujrat and the daily killings in Karachi not only expose the culprits’ propensity to resort to violence at the slightest excuse, but also a consistent failure on the state’s part to quell the violence and bring perpetrators to justice.

A statement by the HRCP expressed dismay at the shooting incident in the Dasht area near the Pak-Iran border and pressed for an investigation so that causes behind the offence may be discovered.
