KARACHI:

Officials of the Sindh Reserve Police and consultant of Home Department, Sharfuddin Memon, besides Advocate General Sindh and Sindh home secretary were put on notice for July 30 by a division bench of the Sindh High Court in a petition challenging issuance of show cause devoid of any allegation.

The petitioner, Rizwan Mehmood, maintained that he joined Sindh Reserve Police force 25 years back and since then had been performing duties at different places without any complaint. He said that suddenly in November 2011, he was posted at the Complaint Cell of the Home Department. On April 19, 2012, he was issued a show cause notice allegedly on some complaint. The said show cause carried no details of allegations levelled against him. The petitioner questioned the legality of such a show cause and requested the court to declare the same as null and void. The bench after hearing initial arguments ordered the issuance of notices to the respondents for appearance on July 30.
