Blind cricket world cup: 43 prospective players imparted training

ABBOTABAD: Forty-three prospective players were imparted training at the annual training camp of Pakistan Blind Cricket Team on Sunday. The team is expected to participate in the upcoming Blind Cricket World Cup to be held in Banglor, India, this year from December 1, World Cricket Council Senior Vice President Syed Sultan Shah told media persons.

He said that the players played several matches and were given tips to improve their bowling, batting and fielding batting skills. He added that the names of the players selected for the upcoming world cup will be announced on August 25.

Selection Committee Chairman Imran Sheikh and Provincial Coordinator Shokat Gul Jadoon were also present at the press briefing.

Shah said that nine teams from across the world will participate in the upcoming world cup. “Since the Pakistan team that has the honour of being world champion twice, the moral of the players is high and the team is expected to present a very good game,” he said.

Shah said that even though the Indian team defeated the Pakistani team on its home ground last time, the national side has every potential to win the world cup. His optimism was endorsed by the team captain, Zeeshan Abbasi.
