Advocate M Khalid, representing Civil Judge Zafar Iqbal, submitted that lawyers with 10 years of experience practising the law were allowed to sit the exams, but civil judges who had the same amount of judicial experience were not.
He said that the career progression laid out for civil judges to become ADSJs took much longer. He said that civil judges with 10 years of experience should be allowed to sit the exams and sought instructions from the court in this regard.
