Boxing: Khan record an illusion, says Garcia

Garcia will defend his title against Khan on July 14

News Desk July 04, 2012

WBC light-welterwight champion Danny Garcia believes that Amir Khan’s professional record is inflated because he only fights boxers that he can easily beat, according to Sky Sports. Garcia will defend his title against Khan on July 14 and has begun a war of words by stating that Khan’s record of 26 wins out of 28 is overblown. Khan only has one defeat against his name, with the other declared a no contest. Garcia, however, is unimpressed. “I know that I’m going to hurt him in this fight,” said Garcia. “He never fought anyone like me. All of his other fights were set-up fights to make him look good. This fight right here, he is going to have his hands full.”
