Army dominate K-P swimming event

WAPDA, Navy trail leaders in Governor Gold Cup.

Pakistan Army continued to dominate the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Governor Gold Cup Swimming Tournament, increasing their tally to 11 gold, nine silver and four bronze medals on the second day of the event for a total of 305 points.


Wapda are in second place with four silver and five bronze medals, a tally that fetched them 115 points, while Navy secured one gold and two silver medals to finish the day on 41 points.

Nisar Ahmed was the highlight of the day for the Army team, grabbing two gold medals. Ahmed won the  400-metre individual medley after clocking a time of five minutes and 25.57 seconds, while his teammate Mohammad Imran finished second with a time of five minutes and 32.51 seconds. Navy’s Khalid Ismail timed six minutes and 0.29 seconds. Ahmed also clinched the 400-metre freestyle event.
