Human Rights: Panel concerned over Asma threats

ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Human Rights on Friday expressed concerns over life threats to former President Supreme Court Bar Association Asma Jehangir.

The committee, at its 72nd meeting chaired by Riaz Hussain Fatyana, asked the ministries of Defence and Interior to ensure security for Asma Jhangir.

The committee said Asma had always spoken the truth and she was receiving threats for speaking on the issue of death sentence to women in Kohistan.
