LAHORE: The Lahore City Cricket Association (LCCA) President Khawaja Nadeem was stunned by his Karachi counterpart’s claims that players from Karachi have been deliberately omitted from the national side.

The Karachi City Cricket Association (KCCA) recently criticised the selection of Pakistan’s team currently on tour in England, claiming that a number of talented cricketers from Karachi were neglected. The protest included action against the selection committee as well as burning of bats by Karachi’s club cricketers.

“Players are representing Pakistan any city or province when playing at the international level,” said Nadeem. “The KCCA are setting a wrong precedent. Whoever the player is, if he deserves to be in the team, he will be.”
