ISLAMABAD:

The murderer of a man found dead in a guest house two years ago was traced and arrested on Tuesday. The suspect is a professional criminal involved in carjackings and robberies, police said.

He was under-trial in a carjacking and robbery case in Shikarpur jail, from where he was handed over to Islamabad police.

He was wanted in the murder of Ahsan Shah, a 25-year-old from Abbotabad, who was found dead in Ali Guest House in September 2010.

IO Ghulam Habib said the Wajihullah was handed over after completion of his trial in Shikarpur, where he was sentenced to two years in prison.

He said the suspect was in Margalla police’s custody on physical remand for four days. During investigations, he did not give any motive but said money was a factor.

“The exact reasons will be investigated,” said the police official.
