KARACHI:

On Monday, Furqan alias Tunta, an alleged gangster involved with the Ustad Taju group was arrested from Mauripur.

According to the authorities, Tunta confessed to having killed over 60 people in the last couple of years. While talking to The Express Tribune, West Zone SSP Amir Farooqi said that Tunta’s arrest was a big achievement for the police as he was a wanted man.

He explained that Tunta got his alias because of an attack last year in which he lost one of his arms. The SSP said that Tunta was arrested in a raid at his hideout. He added that they had received a tip-off about the suspect and had raided the house before. They seized four hand grenades, two 7mm rifles from Tunta. Farooqi claimed that Tunta confessed to being involved in killing men from the Arshad Pappu gang, Haji Salamu and Muttahida Qaumi Movement.
