Shootout: Proclaimed offender held

SSP (Operations) told the media that doctors treating the proclaimed offender ha described his condition as critical.

FAISALABAD: A proclaimed offender was arrested by Mansoorabad police after a shootout in Jhumra Road area. Muhammad Tayyab was later taken to Allied Hospital where he was under treatment for a bullet injury he suffered during the gun battle with the police.

SSP (Operations) Sadiq Dogar told the media that doctors treating the proclaimed offender ha described his condition as critical. He said the raid was carried out on a tip off about Tayyab’s presence in the area. The SSP said Tayyab and his accomplices opened fire at the police team. He said as the police shot back, injuring him but his accomplices managed to escape the scene. “Tayyab was arrested and taken to the hospital,” he said.

He said the PO belonged to the Chak Jhumra area and was wanted by the police a number of murders, dacoities and robberies.
