Squash: Danish, Bokhari vie for Asian junior title

KARACHI: Defending champion Danish Atlas Khan made it to the final of the Asian Junior Squash Championship, defeating Jordan’s Ahmedal Sarraj 3-1 in Kish, Iran. Atlas won 11-7, 10-12, 11-6 and 11-7 and will take on compatriot Ali Bokhari, who stunned India’s Mahesh Mangaonkar 3-2 in the other last-four encounter. Atlas said that he was confident of retaining the title. “I think I can beat him easily and become champion once again,” Atlas told The Express Tribune. “I was not expecting Bokhari to be my opponent but he played really well. But I’ve nothing to worry about and I’ll go all out tomorrow.” Meanwhile, Pakistan head coach Jamshed Gul said that it was a good sign that two Pakistanis made it to the final ahead of the World Junior Championship next month.
