Mercedes chief Ross Brawn believes that his team can still challenge for the world championship if they cut out the mistakes that have blighted their season so far, according to Sky Sports. Despite Nico Rosberg handing Mercedes their first F1 victory of the 2012 season with the Chinese Grand Prix triumph, Brawn accepted that his team had under-delivered due to a combination of bad luck and costly errors. “I would assess our season so far as having a lot of potential and promise, but we haven’t quite fulfilled that yet,” said Brawn. “We still have a lot of races left, but I am pleased with the performance of the car because we have won a race and were second in Monaco. However, we haven’t quite put the whole programme together. We have not made the most of it.”
