Qadir, in his letter, requested the chairman, who previously said the case did not fall under the National Accountability Ordinance (NAO), 1999, to form a team for conducting an unbiased investigation.
Earlier, in the short order penned down during the hearing of the Arsalan Iftikhar case, the Supreme Court directed Attorney General Irfan Qadir to proceed according to the law and take required action against business tycoon Malik Riaz, his son-in-law Salman and the chief justice’s son Arsalan Iftikhar.

Arsalan's get rich quick case must be investigated to the full extent of the law. His family including all those who went on shopping spree in the most exotic places of the world be interrogated and brought to justice. The CJ has "set up high standards of justice" so his family should be judged as such. The allegation of Arsalan’s corruption and money making has been on the books since 2007 and they must be properly investigated. As far as Malik Riaz to beg tried for giving bribes, then most people do not give money away unless they have no other options. Even a common citizen going for everyday task has to cough up the bribe if he/she wants to get the job done. If that becomes a crime then most of the population should be in jail because they cannot get anything done without paying the bribes.
CJ's son was a public servant until 2008 and amassed wealth so quickly that it raises doubts. No matter how changed CJ Iftikhar is now, he can not claim to be not aware of the cash coming in to the family.
There is indeed something fishy in this entire Arsalan Iftikhar Saga and investigation by any state body with the objective to ascertain the claim of Malik Riaz that money was being given to influence CJ is not entirely out of perspective. Infact it is very vital to ensure the indepedence of judiciary.
Futhermore, an innocent party is not scared of investigation because they are innocent so investigations from all agencies should be welcomed.
I am sure CJ knows about Arslan's levish life style as well as his accumulation of wealth. Malik Riyaz has produced strong evidences against Arslan, which are sufficient to prove him guilty.
luv u CJ! we are all standing firm with you
Good I am no fan of PPP, but CJ has gone on offensive then if their is evidence to convict CJ's son then they should ask NAB to investigate and put this man behind bars.
NAB can't. If it does I'll file a petition myself to probe my case as well. It has been lingering on for 8 years now and NAB is refusing on the plea that its a matter between two parties, not between a state and a party.
