Crowd traps and kills alleged decoits trying to escape after murdering family

SIALKOT: An infuriated mob beat two alleged criminals to death as they were trying to escape the scene of a crime.

The two men allegedly killed two and injured four during a robbery early Sunday morning on main Daska Road near Doburji Malhiyaan.

Police officials said that villagers chased the robbers as they tried to flee the scene of the crime.

District police officer (DPO) Waqar Ahmad Chohan said that the mob cornered the robbers outside the street and began pelting them with stones. “A large crowd started throwing stones and bricks at the men as they tried to escape. Both men were killed in the attack,” he said.

Chohan said that the crowd attacked the men with stones, bricks, iron rods, hockey sticks and wooden sticks.

Later in the day, locals placed the dead bodies of the accused dacoits on the main Sialkot-Daska Road and staged an anti-police demonstration. “The Sialkot Saddar police have failed to protect the lives of the people and they haven’t arrested the scores of criminals in the area,” said resident Liaqat, adding that the people had decided to take the law into their own hands.

Locals demanded immediate legal action against Sialkot police officials for failing to control the rising crime rate in the region.

The incident took place in Hajipura police precincts during sehri hours, when four masked men were looting a family of six on Butter Road. When the family, including Zeeshan Qadir, his wife and four children tried to resist the robbers, they opened fire on the family.

The robbers killed 19-year-old Bilal on the spot and Zeeshan died in the hospital two hours later.

According to Rescue 1122 officials, several people heard the gun shots in the street. “We all gathered to ask where the sounds were coming from when we saw the men trying to escape,” said Shahnawaz, a neighbor, adding that the crowd managed to stop two of the men.

“We found out they had killed our friends and we knew that the police would let them off so we killed them,” he said. The mob also hanged the bodies of the robbers as people came and pelted rocks at them in a public square.

“The protestors wanted to burn the dead bodies but we stopped them and dispersed the crowd,” said Sialkot district coordination officer (DCO) Mujahid Sher Dil. DPO Waqar Ahmad Chohan, district emergency officer Sialkot Syed Kamal Abid and senior district administration officials reached the spot and negotiated with the outraged people to recover the bodies of the alleged robbers.

DPO Chohan assured the crowd that stern legal action would be taken against police officials neglecting their duties. Four hours after being assured by police officials and the DCO, the crowd handed over the bodies to the police

The bodies of the alleged dacoits and their victims were sent to Allama Iqbal Memorial DHQ Hospital Sialkot for autopsy. The hospital administration has said that the four people seriously injured by the dacoits are presently in critical condition.

According to this report they were criminals and had just committed a crime, In that case i can’t blame the villagers, If obviously they were totally innocent young men caught up in a feud and have been killed innocently in that case nobody deserves that.Recommend

Its funny to see that Pakistani people are ready to kill minor criminals but they wouldnt harm their corrupt and murderer politicians. I reckon it could be lack of education or maybe they are scared of politicians.Recommend

What every, such type of brutality is not good for the society in general and country in particular. I some how supported the idea that the people must also show such type of response towards criminals. All those people who are beating these two guys must have shown the courage to beat the corrupt politicians, bureaucrat, bank defaulter and the powerful criminal also.
But just imagine if these boys were not robbers then what should be done with those who have beaten the boys. In my opinion they the issue must be thoroughly investigated by a judge of supreme courts and if the murdered boys were decelerated innocents they the people and policemen who are involved in the incident must be burnt alive in front of TV camerasRecommend

Justice delayed is justice denied.Hence the corrupt and inefficient authorities of the country must be made accountable and brought to book first than the mob who took the law into their own hands. This is going to be the scene in every corner of the country in the days ahead. On the brink of bloody revolution.Recommend

This is a Barbaric and in human act. Tehy were not stoned but beaten to death by sticks and Police were standing there watching. Niether Islam or any man made law allows that. What is wrong with us. Then we say that why are all these disasters are coming upon muslims and expect Allahs blessings. Friends even stoning of an adulterer in ISLAM requires witnesses and a trial. Did any one watch the whole video on geo about their parents and interviews of all the neighbours. One of them was a HAFIZ e Quran. Please condemn this act on all levels so we can be called civilized as well like the rest of the world. When Police of a country stands there and watch people killed then who is there to protect. All those police officers should be charged as well with Murder and Punished.Recommend

I agree with Muhammad Hassan. If they were real dacoits and had killed other people then this is a lesson for being selfish in general and in particluar at a time when the rest of the country is drowining.

ALTERNATIVELY, if this was a setup then my heart really cries for the two brothers and their families .The guys using the batton should should and should then be given the same treatement and burnt alive!!!!!

Or maybe I have an even better solution. Do this to the people in power Zardari and Baber awan for example because of whom
1: there is so much frustration in the people.
2: dacoits are operating at large

all they are concerned with is their pockets!!Recommend

It turns out that the two were innocent cricket players and were cornered by villagers upon shouts of burglars. The real reason for the beating to pulp, mutilation, gouging of eyes and execution wS that they continued to play cricket in the wrong area where the local badmash (gangs) had not liked the look of them. The couple of days old robbery was blamed on them and friends of those killed in robbery took revenge.
The nation is mental barbaric and seems to have no concept of care or empathy.

The two were students of around GCSE and thief mother is heartbroken. Those who watched , pelted and video recorded are all guilty. Recommend

What a complete waste of a blessed gift from Allah : Life
The perpetrators of such atrocity should be brought to justice, if the killing was to replicate the sharia law then its imperative for that law to exist as enforceable in society we live in but that is not the case in Pakistan.

Irrespective of the fact whether they were innocecnt or guilty, the policing of our country should be condemned which allowed this inhumane act to superceed the judical law.

I have NO words to say what i as “Pakistani” feels after watching this Brutality to its extreme, sorrowly conducted in Holy Month of Ramadan and during the fasting hours… This to me is EXTREME of everything…. i can not write ALL my sentiments, anger and sorrows over this act… in short, i agree, our very rights for existance has expired!!! i see not only the men beating these two brothers but in one video i saw a 5 or 6 years old kid hiting one of the dead bodies too… this is my DUA, that everyone of the people who just watched HUMANITY geting killed on the streets, be their own deaths be the same or even worst! AMEEN… this is an OPEN invitation of AZAAB… and i tell you its COMING… i am a father too… and i just cant believe what their parents may be going through… certainly SHAME to watch… Not only our nation has LOST our religious believes, teachings of our Prophet MOHAMED pbuh, but also lost HUMANITY, making our society open for similar events…. MAY ALLAH protect us from these EVEILS… MAY ALLAH punish them to limits… here and in the world after…and i hope ALL the world see them in greif…. i am still trying to find, WHY did they beat them to death? what did they do soo bad? robery? murder? what? if so then DO THIS with REAL criminals? who walk freely, and driving on the roads in their luxury cars… Do this with ZARDARI who did a national robery, do this with MUSHARAF who let hundreds walk away with national tresures… the list is a lot bigger… but who would dare to touch them if they walk on the streets? instead people will bow on them and ask for MONEY!

Floods, Plane Crash, Brutal Killings, target Killings, yet no one will write a report at the Police station. No long term planning. Where is the fear of God or the care for another human being.

The price of food and clothes was increased when sellers found out its for flood victims.
A nurse was gang raped for telling truth about incompetent staff.

    Their possessions are stolen

Another detail missed was that when they were hung one of the brothers was still barely alive, so the police to ensure there are no witness or he doesnt point out the truth, used used metal rods to poke their eyes out and then used shovel to disfigure thier faces so they cannot be recognised.

Shahbaz shareef is trying his best to protect the senior polcie officer by changing the investigative officer. remember honest officers are sent to lawless areas to be killed because they are no use to politicians.

Whether these boys were criminals or innocent, who knows. All criminal justice systems are based on the principle that all accused persons are innocent until proven to be guilty!! Where was the evidence here and who heard the case????
