HARIPUR:

A married woman was allegedly poisoned by her husband and his two sisters over a property dispute in Dheenda village.

Nasir Khan (son of Ashraf Khan) lodged a case with the Khalabat Township Police on Friday accusing his sister’s husband, Razmat Khan, and his two sisters Hajra and Mariam of murder.

Nasir maintained that because his sister, Shagufta Bibi, did not have any kids two years into her marriage, her husband had decided to remarry.

He claimed that when his sister refused to give up ownership rights of a house gifted to her as dower, her in-laws beat her up badly.

He told the police that one day he learnt that his sister’s condition had deteriorated after having lunch and he took her to District Headquarters Hospital in critical condition.

The doctors said that she had been poisoned and referred her to Ayub Medical Complex Abbottabad for treatment. But she died before she could be transferred.

The police registered an FIR against the husband and his two sisters under section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code; however, none of them was arrested till the filing of this report.
