Malpractice: ‘Appointments by previous VC illegal’

FAISALABAD: Government College University Faisalabad (GCUF) Syndicate on Saturday declared all recruitments made during the tenure of Dr Shahid Mehboob Rana, the former vice chancellor, illegal. The meeting was chaired by Dr Zakar Hussain, the current VC. The syndicate unanimously declared the recruitments of 63 assistant professors and lecturers null and void. The posts will be re-advertised shortly. The syndicate also approved recruitments under Dr Hussain and punishments imposed on two workers. The suspension of the former VC was extended by three months.
