Football: Chitral down Dera Ismail Khan

K-P Football Secretary General says this will show that Peshawar is safe for such events.

PESHAWAR: Chitral defeated Dera Ismail Khan 5-1 in the first match of the All Pakistan Governor Gold Cup Football Tournament that kicked off at the Qayyum Stadium. Twelve teams comprising eights districts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) along with PTV, Wapda, PAF and Punjab are participating in the tournament. “The tournament has been organised after 20 years due to safety concerns in the area,” K-P Football Association Secretary General Basit Kamal told The Express Tribune. “This will give a great chance to new talent and would show that Peshawar is safe for such events.”
