At least 10 people were gunned down in separate incidents in the city in four days. Four men were killed in Ban-Hajipura area over a property dispute. The FIR registered in the case mentioned eight men.
In another incident apparently caused by a land dispute, Muhammad Shehzad was killed in Peerkot-Begowala village of Sambrial tehsil allegedly by seven men including Bagga, Shafiq, Naveed, and Nadeem. Arif Hussain, 22, a resident of Thatha Malkhi village in Pasrur, was shot and killed over an argument during a cricket match.
A case was registered against seven men including one Saqib. Mehar Iftikhar, a cable television operator, was gunned down in Kotli Noona village allegedly by one of his customers, Muhammad Riaz, for demanding the monthly fee.
In separate incidents, Shafiq and Abdul Majeed were shot and killed in Chohaaney-Phookaliyaan village and in Bassu Punnu-Qila Kalarwala village, respectively. SP (Investigation) Asad Sarfraz said police were investigating these killings and would soon arrest the suspects.
