LAHORE:

Additional District and Sessions Judge Malik Tariq Mehmood Zargham reserved for June 13 (today) his verdict in a petition seeking directions to the police to record statements of all witnesses the defendants want to produce.

In his response on Tuesday, Crime Investigation Agency Qila Gujjar Singh SP Capt (retd) Liaqat Ali Malik said statements of the witnesses produced by the petitioner had been recorded and made part of the case record. He said the police had submitted the record of the case to the court. SP Malik stated that the petition appeared to be an attempt to obstruct the proceedings. On Monday, the ADSJ had summoned SP Umar Virk with the case record for Tuesday (yesterday). Petitioner Iqbal said statements of 32 witnesses he produced before the police were not recorded. He said the respondents  were directed on March 20 to record the statements of all witnesses.
