CJ has nothing to do with Arsalan Iftikhar case: Aitzaz Ahsan
But, the chief justice has nothing to do with the alleged wrongdoings of his son and Arsalan will be responsible for his own actions, Aitzaz maintained while speaking to the media in the Lahore High Court premises on Monday. He added that people should not point fingers at the chief justice because of his son.
“The chief justice should have not sat on the bench hearing Arsalan’s case, and he took a wise decision in disengaging himself from the bench in view of public opinion,” Aitzaz said.
He said that Riaz has returned to the country and will present the relevant material in the Supreme Court. It will be up to the court to ascertain whether it was a conspiracy or not, he added.
Aitzaz, despite requests, declined to divulge details of the material shown to him by Riaz, saying it is improper to discuss in public the material on which the Supreme Court will take a decision.
He further said that the media had exaggerated the issue on the basis of hearsay, which is highly regrettable. He also rebutted the allegation that he had contacted British journalist Kristina Lamb. He clarified that the last time he had contacted Lamb was in 2007.

Even if you disregard Aitazaz Ahsan's statement, you still have to wonder why his son Arsalan's expensive vacations (along with CJ's wife and other family members) to London and Monte Carlo on a govt doctor's salary did not register with the CJ. Why did he turn a blind eye to this lifestyle that was clearly beyond his son's known means.

If nothing else the CJ is guilty of cover up of a crime being committed of which he had or was given ample information. He opted for inaction while he better had acted and acted vigorously and immediately. His silence for so many months is criminal, I'm sorry there just isn't any excuses or reasons for pardon here.
This is a moral and religious responsibility of a father to have an eye on his son. This is gross negligence of a father. Also Aitazaz ahsan told him before and did not take any suo muto, and not aware about his business activities. Very strange!!!!!
Atizaz Ahsan is one of the player so he will not say what is true don't believe him
In the bar room of LHC Mr. AA clearly said that after looking closely at the evidence shown by Mr. Riaz Malik he personally informed Chief Sahib. He anyhow did not informed when he informed CJ of this episode. I think this case should be investigated by some independent panel of retired judges. Present judges in SC will try to hush-up things as seen before when evidence was provided both against the father and son during previous government.

It just means further investigation is needed. Without thorough investigation final conclusion cannot be made. AA is neither a judge nor an investigator. His word is not final by a long shot.
@Umer: He knows because he saw the evidence being used against the man's son and it doesn't implicate him in the slightest. That's how.
How does Aitzaz Ahsan know, is he a mind reader? There should be a thorough investigation of the Arsalan matter. How did CJ missed all the wealth and why is there no independent investigation of the Arslan matter ordered so far?
