Highway crime: Passenger bus looted

SAHIWAL: Valuables including gold jewellery worth Rs500,000, several wrist watches and cell phones and Rs352,000 in cash, were taken away from passengers of a bus headed for Sahiwal on Sunday. Noor Shah police said eight robbers intercepted the bus from Peshawar on Sahiwal-Faisalabad Road near Chak 46GD. They said the robbers overpowered the driver, Rafique, and the gunmen, Ahmed, and made the passengers surrender their belongings.
