Corruption: Two arrested for taking bribe

Alleged baribe of Rs11,000 for releasing an amount submitted earlier as security against sales deed of a land.

FAISALABAD: The Anti Corruption Establishment team on Friday arrested a Jinnah Town assistant town officer and a naib qasid for receiving illegal gratification. Contractor Tariq Javed had filed a complaint against Assistant Town Officer Gulzar Nadeem and Naib Qasid Intizar Hussain alleging they took a Rs11,000 bribe from him for releasing an amount submitted earlier as security against sales deed of a land. An Anti Corruption Establishment team, comprising Circle Officer Abdul Rehman Asim and Judicial Magistrate Zulfiqar Luk, raided the office of the accused and arrested them red-handed. The two men have been sent to jail on 14 days judicial remand.
