The I-9 Islamabad police had arrested Paracha in relation to an FIR lodged against him earlier.
A contingent of police was also deployed outside the police station in fear of a possible protest by CNG association members against the arrest.
The APCNGA has announced to shut down CNG stations across the country from June 6 and has threatened that the strike will continue indefinitely if the government goes ahead with the move to increase the price of compressed natural gas.
“Unfortunately, when they [the government] increase the price, consumers end up paying for it. But it is a loss for us as well,” Paracha had said.

No one gives a damn about the country or the people. CNG association is just saving its business.
@YASIR: You live in the fantasy world. Do you know what will happen to these schmucks if people decide to switch to LPG & LNG?? They are only out for themselves.
@saleem Haider: I dont know why you fools do not understand that if Cess is imposed on CNG then per kg price would be 100 or even more ? whos gonna pay 100 /kg either CNG station owners or General Public ? Offcourse we have to bear that cost & if CNG assosiation protests then rather than supporting them we , on web, are just passing comments. Do you know how much Petrol Pumps owners are getting from per liter ? So whatever the price of Petrol Or CNG may be , the end result would be pass to public .& if we are not able to help them then we do not have right to say" ohhhhhhhhh so much inflation i.e CNG price has come to 100 kg , how can we afford CNG & PETROL ..
these are all doing for saving his profits because in our country one kg cng gives 20 to 25 rupees profit.
