Al Wasl manager Diego Maradona has admitted that the club cannot afford Didier Drogba, according to sport360. “Who in the world would not want Drogba?” said Maradona. “Every team would love to have such a player in their ranks. A club with the right finances can attract Drogba. Right now Al Wasl isn’t in that category. I heard he’s going to China.” He joked, however, that such has been the level of interest in Drogba that he has actually started to believe Al Wasl have signed the Ivorian forward. “Every press conference you ask me about Drogba. I started looking for him in the changing rooms.” Drogba, who spent eight years with Chelsea, has also been linked with Real Madrid and Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua.
