Investigation officers had sought video footage from CCTV of the incident. But ASF refused to comply with the request of providing the footage of the altercation which took place at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport, or present the official involved for questioning, citing an ongoing internal investigation as reason.
Earlier on May 31, ASF personnel at the airport had allegedly entered into an altercation with the military attaché of the Saudi embassy, after he refused to cooperate during security checks and abused Pakistan and had allegedly called Pakistani officials his “servants”.
Airport Police, on Monday, refused to receive a letter requesting the footage and custody of the involved official, saying that Director General-ASF was investigating the matter and until the inquiry was completed, no record will be handed over.
ASF rules clearly mention that only heads of diplomatic missions and counsel generals are exempted from a body search owing to diplomatic immunity guaranteed under the Vienna accords. The DG- ASF said that officials have the right to take action if rules are not followed, however, he also noted that officers on duty should have informed higher authorities when the scuffle broke out.

LAHORE: Following reports of an unauthorised trip by US embassy officials to Gilgit-Baltistan, an intelligence agency’s report has expressed serious concern regarding the “secret movement” of foreign missions/diplomats in the country, including covert meetings with officials and private persons – without informing either the foreign office or the interior ministry.
Where is Pakistan pride??? or your pride is practiced only with Saudis!!!
@Cynic: Three drone strikes in as many days on suspected militants have killed 27 people, Pakistani intelligence officials say. wake up !!!!!
One Saudi gets hurt and this is how we react. And in Saudi Arabia, I have seen how these Saudis treat us. The moment they see an Afghan or a Pakistani, they think they have seen a criminal. Good job, ASF!
Hahah Pakistanis think they are really cool. Wait till Saudia and USA pulls out the donations on which all of you live and then we will see all these Moral comments coming in !!
Very strange incidence indeed. Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan has, since the Zia era, acted like the viceroy of a colony. This happens when a nation becomes so massively dependent on another nations handouts. Ask Pakistani diplomats assigned to Riyadh, Jeddah or other Pakistani missions to the Kingdom if they are subjected to such searches or not. I bet the answer will be yes. But, being the benefactors of Pakistan, even low level Saudi diplomats feel they are well within their right to swear at and insult officials of their host country. Ignorance coupled with wealth brings the worst out of human beings. Having said this I think Pakistan, in the wake of U.S. support in doldrums, can not afford the ire of the Kingdom. As bad as it is going to be for the morale of honest and diligent officials of ASF, they will have to take the bitter pill and fire a few personnel in order to please the “benefactors”.
What a shame! It pains me to think how uncivilized we as a nation have become. Members of security forces must show restraint and follow procedures, no matter how provocative any person may become - if he was abusing Pakistanis and misbehaving, he should have been taken into custody, stopped from boarding and a formal complaint could have been lodged with the Saudi authorities - that is how such cases are dealt with in civilized countries - and believe me that could have brought him and his country the bad name he deserved. Beating him up have turned the tables in his favor and we have proven without any shadow of doubt what junglees we actually are.
So what's the downside of providing a copy of the video footage. When people don't cooperate with investigations it leaves a clear impression that you don't want all the facts disclosed.
Couple of weeks back, as a Grand Political figure as Henry Kissenger was searched (Pat Down) at JFK while in wheel chair.........so stop protocols especially when you are not entitled to it let alone abusing ASF and Pak Nation as a whole
Good. next time learn to obey our laws or stay there
In the U.S., Ambassadors and Consul Generals are not exempt from screening. Let KSA take it up with the TSA.
Proud of you ASF. A message to everyone that Treat Pakistanis with respect and like Brothers or else we really know how to spread love in a reciprocal manner.
