Strength complete: Justice Azmat Saeed sworn into Supreme Court

The 17-member strength of the Supreme Court bench has been completed.

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry administered the oath Justice Azmat Saeed, Chief Justice, Lahore High Court as a Judge of the Supreme Court on Friday in the Supreme Court Building.

Judges of the Supreme Court, Director General Federal Judicial Academy, Deputy Attorney Generals, Representatives of the Bar, Prominent Lawyers, Law Officers of the court also attended the ceremony. Dr Faqir Hussain, Registrar Supreme Court conducted the proceedings of oath taking ceremony.

Attorney General Ifran Qadir did not attend the ceremony. After alleviation of Azmat Saeed in Supreme Court, the strength of 17-judge has been completed.

President Zardari had earlier approved of this elevation.
