Proud day: Fourth convocation of IMCG held

Educated women are the ones entrusted with the responsibility of grooming the future generations, stated Nazar Gondal

Education for women is a must for uplift of the country, as they are the ones entrusted with the responsibility of grooming the future generations. This was stated by Federal Ministry for Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) Nazar Mohammad Gondal who was addressing the fourth convocation ceremony of  Islamabad Model College for Girls (IMCG), F-6/2, on Tuesday.


The minister said women can play a crucial role in the development of the country if they are provided with better education opportunities. Gondal said, “Islamabad is the face of the country and there is a need to improve it through promoting education among the people. We want to make it a role model for the other cities to follow,” he added. Principal of the college, Rehana Rashid said the college has a proud history of having started as a middle school in the year 1984 and being raised to the status of a degree college in a very short span of time.

The college started Bachelor of Science in the year 2006 and started a four years BSc Honors programme in Computer Science in affiliation with the University of Punjab, she said. The college has won best institution award at SSC level for four consecutive years and Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) has declared this college as the best institution for nine times, she added.

Earlier, the minister awarded degrees, cash prizes and medals to the students.
