LOS ANGELES: Two-time welterweight world champion Paul Williams suffered spinal injuries that could end his boxing career in a motorcycle crash in Atlanta, the US media reported. Promoter Dan Goossen told the Los Angeles Times that Williams has no feeling below his waist and is scheduled to undergo surgery today. “I don’t know the specifics about the spinal cord being severed,” said Goossen. “But I do know that I’ve been told by his trainer that he will never walk again.” The respected Williams owns a career record of 41-2, with 27 knockouts.
