Cricket: Mascarenhas wants IPL-like system

All-rounder Dimitri Mascarenhas predicted England would benefit from a franchise system similar to the Indian Premier League (IPL), according to the BBC. “I would love to see a franchise system the same as they have got,” said Mascarenhas. “If you get the best players in the world coming over and playing with our men, it can only make them better. Every year the IPL unearths some local Indians that are going to be amazing players.” He said that England has the perfect infrastructure to handle an IPL-like system. “England has some huge grounds and the conditions would be different.”
