LAHORE: Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) Chairman Raja Muhammad Anwar said on Sunday that corporal punishment was banned in its 4,700 partner schools where 1.3 million students were enrolled in 36 districts of the province. Anwar said collaboration with organisations like Plan Pakistan was valuable in developing an organised, useful and pro-active mechanism to ensure complete elimination of hitting. He expressed satisfaction that the technical assistance of Plan Pakistan had helped efficiently run the pilot project for elimination of prohibiting corporal punishment in schools in Chakwal, Vehari, Rajanpur, Layyah and Muzaffargarh districts.
